HOW TO DETERMINE THE IDEAL SIZE OF YOUR HAT?

At Maki Palmata, we understand the importance of finding the perfect hat. Our hats are measured by the inside circumference at the bottom of the hat crown, usually in centimeters. This method applies to all our styles of hats, from straw to wool. While each hat may vary slightly in size, many of our customers find it helpful to base it on the average head measurement (57cm for women) and then adjust the size as needed. With our adjustable brim options, you can be sure that your Maki Palmata hat will fit you perfectly.

WHAT IS THE AVERAGE HAT SIZE FOR WOMEN?

On average, a woman's head circumference is usually around 57 cm. At Maki Palmata, we offer a variety of sizes to accommodate different head types and fit preferences.

For those in the average range, we recommend starting with our standard size, which is designed to fit a head circumference of 57/58cm and can be adjusted down to 55cm. If you know you have a slightly larger head, we also offer a 59cm size that can be adjusted as needed.

And for those with smaller heads, we offer a size Small that starts at 55/56 cm and can be adjusted down to 53 cm.

HOW DO I ADJUST MY HAT SIZE?

All of our hats are equipped with an adjustable inner band that allows you to customize the fit to your needs.

To adjust your hat size, simply follow these steps:

1. Lift the saddle band to find the adjustment straps.

2. Pull the straps to tighten the band until you get the desired size.

3. You can make a loop and put the ribbon back in its correct place.

Our adjustable band can adjust the hat up to 2 inches, giving you the flexibility to achieve the perfect fit. Here are some useful tips for using our adjustable band or stool:

• A small adjustment can make a difference.

• At first, you may need to make some adjustments to find the sweet spot. Once you've found it, you won't need to make adjustments frequently.

With our adjustable inner band, you can be sure that your hat will fit comfortably on your head, giving you the style and comfort you deserve.

DISCOVER YOUR IDEAL HAT

At Maki Palmata, we celebrate uniqueness and authenticity. Although here we’re giving you some tips to help you find the perfect hat according to your face type and height, we want to remind you that in fashion there are no unbreakable rules. We are passionate about experimenting and exploring new possibilities, and we believe that the most important thing is how the hat you choose makes you feel.

TIPS FOR CHOOSING THE PERFECT HAT

Here are some suggestions to help you find the ideal hat. However, remember that these recommendations are just that: recommendations. Feel free to explore and discover what really resonates with you!

Have you ever wondered what your face shape is? Lets help you identify the shape of your face. Based on the face types below, start by looking at yourself in the mirror and discover what’s your face type.

OVAL SHAPE

Your face has a harmonious, gently curved shape, where the forehead is slightly wider than the chin.

Why not try a hat with a wide brim and a medium crown? It will help you highlight the beauty of your oval face. You are lucky to have a very versatile look, so don't hesitate to try on all types of hats! Maybe even choose a hat depending on your mood. The possibilities are endless!

ROUND SHAPE

Your face has a rounded shape and a soft jaw.

A hat with a wide brim and a high crown to give you a feeling of elongation, adding more angles to your face.

SQUARE SHAPE

Your facial lines are defined and angular. The distance from forehead to chin and from cheek to cheek is almost the same.

Experiment with circular styles. The defined and symmetrical face needs circular shapes to soften the edges of the face. Opt for a hat with a medium brim and rounded crown to soften those sharp lines, produce the optical illusion of height and roundness, and highlight your natural beauty.

HEART SHAPE

Your wide forehead or broad cheekbones tapers towards a smaller, tapered chin, creating an adorable heart-shaped face.

A hat with a medium brim and low crown. Any of these choices will perfectly balance the features of your face.

LONG SHAPE

Your face is longer than it is wide. The forehead, cheekbones, and jawline are similar in size.

A hat with a wide or flared brim and a low crown to visually shorten the length of the face.

DIAMOND SHAPE

With prominent cheekbones and a narrower forehead and chin, your face has a distinctive diamond shape.

How about a hat with a medium brim and low crown to soften those angular lines and highlight your unique beauty?

Now that we've explored how to choose the ideal hat based on your face shape, let us guide you through some additional recommendations based on your height. At Maki Palmata, we believe that each hat is an expression of your unique style and personality. Therefore, we want to offer you tips to help you find the perfect hat that highlights your beauty and inner confidence. Read on to find out more!

As for height, if you consider that it influences your choice, the easiest option is to always opt for a hat that is proportional in size to your height. However, here we offer more detailed recommendations to help you find the perfect hat.

SHORT:

Go for hats with low or high crowns (more stylized) and narrow brims are ideal for you, as they add a touch of style without overwhelming your figure.

AVERAGE:

Medium-sized hats are perfect to enhance your average height and complement your style! But remember, you can choose almost any type or size of hat.

TALL:

Opt for a hat with a wide or medium brim and a high crown to add proportion and sophistication to your imposing figure. You can also consider hats with a low or medium crown if you prefer to create the optical illusion of a slightly shorter height.

Remember, these suggestions are designed to inspire you, but what's most important is how you feel when you wear your hat.
